A code of conduct defines a level of professional conduct that is expected from all Municipal Public Sector elected officials. The desirability of having a Code of Conduct has been endorsed by municipal officials throughout PEI. The following model code of conduct as well as a separate model code of conduct policy have been developed as an options for interested municipalities.
The Federation of Prince Edward Island Municipalities (FPEIM) wishes to acknowledge the financial support provided by the Government of Canada through the Capacity Building Fund established under the Canada and Prince Edward Island Agreement on the Transfer of Federal Gas Tax Program. Without this support development of this model code of conduct, for inclusion on the FPEIM web site for the benefit of PEI municipal government, would not have been possible.
