On August 16, Premier MacLauchlan and Infrastructure and Communities Minister Champagne signed a ten-year bilateral agreement for the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program.
Through the agreement, the Government of Canada will deliver up to $366,977,323 to Prince Edward Island
in the following four areas:
- public transit;
- green infrastructure;
- community, culture and recreation infrastructure; and
- rural and northern communities infrastructure.
FPEIM President Bruce MacDougall, who served as the master of ceremonies, said he’s grateful to the governments of Canada and PEI for this long-term commitment. Through this program, investments in infrastructure by the three orders of government will deliver lasting benefits for Islanders.
